Original Works

Or, shall we say, most of them are original-ish. I've been role-playing with pen and paper and in chat rooms since I was thirteen and role-playing in MMOs since 1999, and most of my stories that aren't pure fanfiction still contain other peoples' characters, either through me doing my best to portray a possible version of them, or through me taking a log of the role-playing session and putting it into story form. I've been blessed to be surrounded by a great number of really awesome storytellers, and it's due to their amazing talent that I've even been inspired to write stories based on our RP in the first place.

About Diera: Most of these stories are from the perspective of a woman named Diera Faeshadow. She has been my big, long-running character for, I think, about 7 years now. She started off as a character in my friend's homemade pen and paper RPG as just a plain human girl, and by the time the campaign ended she was a Fae (more along the lines of Celtic myth than Disney) and had earned her Immortality (which is pretty much the end game in my friend's game world.) After the campaign ended, I'd enjoyed playing her so much that I rebuilt her for the MMO EverQuest (yes, the original), and my friend/GM helped me create a story as to why she went to the world of Norrath (keeping a very powerful and important item away from her home world on behalf of Oberon). It's so funny how Doctor-ish she became, years before I'd even watched the new Doctor Who. An ancient, lonely traveller who's seen so much and can't seem to hold on to anyone she loves.

The Doctor's monologue from "The Lazarus Experiment" fits her perfectly:

"I'm old enough to know that a longer life isn't always a better one. In the end, you just get tired. Tired of the struggle. Tired of losing everyone that matters to you. Tired of watching everything turn to dust. If you live long enough, Lazarus, the only certainty is that you'll end up alone."

Fragments of Time I

There are some who say that every possible outcome of every decision made is played out on one of innumerable Planes of existance. The Planes are so close together, they say, that They sometimes touch, allowing us to peek through into other possibilities; in the Visions of Seers, in the fevered eyes of the dying, in dreams and in nightmares. Blessedly, most of the time our brief glimpses are forgotten after a while so that "what could have been" doesn't haunt us. But still -- what could have been, as well as what could have gone wrong -- those other Planes remain...

The first of two "what if" stories based on events that might have happened as an epilogue to Diera's life on Norrath. Just remember that, if you're familiar with the characters. It's just a what-if. None of this actually happened.

Fragments of Time II

The second "what if" story I wrote. Again, remember they're just what-if's, and didn't actually happen. This one is actually speculation based on something that did almost happen in-game. Diera had been killed by a man named Raenewae (she's not that kind of Immortal, she simply doesn't age) and was being prepared for resurrection, and her rival and mortal enemy, Envy, very nearly used the opportunity to trap Diera's soul in her sword. So, this story is, "What could possibly happen if Envy actually did it?"
